My Qualifications and Experience
ExperienceI saw my first client in 1996 during my training to become a psychotherapist. Since then I have gradually built up my practice and by now have seen over a 100 different clients spanning a large range of issues and backgrounds.
What I offer
I like to work in a very supportive manner, really hearing you with full attention. I hold compassion and care for you as very important, even whilst challenging you if necessary. I aim to be authentic, honest and open. I keep our work totally confidential.
Training
I trained at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London. They provided me with an extensive four year training covering both practice and theory.
Qualifications
I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) - since 2001.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - since 2007.
I am a member of the Association for Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP) - since 2001.
I was awarded an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy in 2001, by the University of Middlesex.
I hold a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, awarded in 2001 by the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London.
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded in 1999 by the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London.
I am an accredited CBT+ practitioner since 2008.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
I am committed to continuing my professional development.
Since completing my training I have attended numerous additional short training courses on subjects ranging from body psychotherapy to neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
I helped lead a year-long course focused on developing life goals and taking leadership.
I continue to read extensively about psychotherapy and counselling.
I have developed a particular interest in how the relationship between the therapist and the client can shed light on relationship problems the client experiences elsewhere.
Maintaining quality
I make sure that my work is regularly supervised by other experienced psychotherapists.
Executive Coaching
I split my time between my work as a therapist and as an executive coach - see www.caritascoaching.co.uk
