Who am I?
I am Harry Jenkins also trading under the name Caritas Therapy, hereafter also referred to as ‘I’ or ‘me’. I am accredited with both United Kingdom for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
How do I collect information?
You provide me with information during our initial meeting and at all subsequent meetings as you talk about your life or answer questions that I might pose. You may provide me with information when you email, telephone, or text me or during online as well as face to face meetings.
What kind of information do I collect and why?
The information that I collect falls into two main categories: communication data, and client notes. Communication data allows me to contact you and may include your name, address, email address, video conferencing address or phone number. Client notes are notes of our meetings, both face to face and online, or other contacts such as telephone calls or emails. Client notes provide a record of our meetings, meet my ethical requirements as stated by my professional bodies (UKCP and BACP) and are required by my insurers. This is a legitimate interest and provides a lawful basis of processing as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) under articles 6 (f) and 9(2)h.
How do I use this information?
I may use your information to:
keep a record of your needs from therapy and other relevant information about the progress of the therapy and of your life and background;
keep accounting records.
Who has access to your personal information?
I will never sell or rent your information to third parties. I will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
I am the only person who has access to your personal information. I keep confidential all that you tell me other than sharing, with your identity kept confidential, with my supervisor. Supervision is an ethical requirement and my supervisors also keep confidentiality. In exceptional circumstances where you let me know of an intention to hurt yourself or others, I may need to reconsider this. If at all possible, I would agree any relaxation in confidentiality in advance. If I had cause to rely upon my professional liability insurance or for regulatory purposes, I may need to share some or all of this information with my insurers or regulators.
Security in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information.
I take the security of your personal information very seriously. I take all necessary steps to keep your data safe, however no system is 100% fail-proof, therefore, I do not, and cannot, guarantee the security or accuracy of the information I gather.
